Women make up about 57% of race finishers, and data suggests that the number of female runners worldwide is on the rise. However, men and women run differently, which can mean more injuries for women.

Prior research suggested that this may be because female runners are more likely to be heel strikers, leading to higher-impact landings. Another reason may be that women tend to have less strength in their core and hips, which could increase the risk of injury.

Women shouldn’t let this information stop them from getting their jog on though, as research also shows that women have more body fat than men, meaning they can store energy and run for longer. They also tend to be more flexible which benefits their muscles and they’re better able to pace themselves during a race.

Basically, keep up the laps ladies. Just try and focus on landing lightly and closer on the middle of your foot when running.

If you end up overdoing it on the track and wake up with a severe case of the DOMs, take Releaf MSM with Curcumin, which has shown to have natural anti-inflammatory properties to help relieve pain and maintain healthy joints and connective tissue.
